Closets, Laundry Rooms & Other Spaces
Spaces designed by KSA Kitchens using cabinetry by Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry, Brookhaven Cabinetry, Craft-Maid Handmade Cabinetry and Elmwood Fine Custom Cabinetry. These rooms are not the usual kitchen or bath, but rather, the others rooms in our homes that we use every day and need to be both beautiful and efficient.
No historic home would be complete without a dressing room! This room, and the adjoining bath were designed for the man of the house. The Wood-Mode cabinet is cherry wood with a sink and cupboard for hanging shirts and compliments the beautiful 18th century dresser. If you're going to re-do your laundry, why not have some fun?! Here are a few pictures of a wonderful laundry room in northern Virginia. The homeowner loved the dark red of her washer and dryer so her Elmwoord cabinets were finished in Merlot to accent them. The porcelain floor is from the City Garden collection from Crossville. A cozy, charming basement family room! The beautiful entertainment center is hand crafted by Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry. The center has all the space needed for a large flat-screen tv, tall speakers on either side and still have plenty of room for displaying memorabilia, as well as storage! We also re-d faced the fireplace with painted wood and a honed stone hearth. Design by Carol Luke, KSA Kitchens. Photo by Wm Check
Here is the entertainment center, close up. We turned the corner by adding a small cabinet so that the space flows effortlessly to the fireplace. By connecting these two focal points, we avoided having them compete with one another. The molding on the center matches the rest of the room, but the stained wood offers contrast.
