Elements house

Set at the end of a private cul-de-sac on an expansive property, the goal of the project was to capitalize on the views and privacy of the rear yard by creating a seamless transition between indoors and out. The newly designed kitchen overlooks the pool deck and landscaping beyond, while the great room opens directly onto the outdoor living and entertaining areas. The stone of the existing façade was mimicked in the new column bases and retaining walls, which do double duty as informal seating areas. A sense of entry was achieved by creating a simple overhead glass structure that provides natural light, and brings interest through the play of light and shadow as one approaches the front door.
