Seattle Green Remodel: Greenlake House LIft

This Seattle remodel of a Greenlake home utilized the ultimate green approach: keep the original house intact. To make room for a growing family, we lifted the original Sears Roebuck 840 sq foot home 12 feet into the air and built a new basement and main floor. The original main floor involved reconfiguring to accommodate three bedrooms and a master bathroom while keeping the main bathroom intact. Cleverly designed built-ins and a unique, cozy eat-in kitchen reflect the home's original charm and efficiency. This home was prominently featured in Seattle Eco Guild's "Green Building Slam" and Seattle Remodeled Homes Tour.
