Victorian Porch Remodel

This house, built in the mid 1990s, is a mix of Victorian and late 1980s foothill styles. The original west facing front porch, which provided inadequate shading from the intense summer sun, had to be removed because of termite damage. The owners wanted a new front porch they could use year round, particularly during the summer months. I designed a large covered porch that will provide ample shade during the summer. In addition, the porch will help shade the house and thus keep it cooler. I also designed a trellis to shade the large south facing windows. All of the new amenities have been detailed in the Victorian style to accentuate the house's Victorian character.
