1920's Thomas Shepard Renovation, La Jolla

It is easy to fall in love with the timeless beauty of this remodel. The use of classic materials throughout the space makes a a clean and cohesive final product. The attention to detail from the hand placed marble mosaics featured in the kitchen splash to the telephone style tub filler in the master really create the 1920's inspired environment this homeowner was searching for. For the bathrooms they wanted something simple and polsihed; we chose stone for the flooring and ceramic tile for the walls. White subway tiles have been established as attractive and practical for use in the home since the 20th century; with pencil thin grout lines and a high glaze these generally inexpensive tiles look so rich and polished. Washstands and other accents original to the home solidify the character and charm of this whole home project.
