were vintage red oak that was sanded down and stained the dark color you see. I don't know the name of the stain used.

Hi phtx and thanks for your question. These are top down, bottom up pleated shades by Hunter Douglas.
Because you can not see the strings of a pleated shade and with out being able to zoom in on the pic, I would say these are cellular shades, with top down, bottom up option. Hunter Douglas is one of the best manufactures of such shades, but they are available from many manufacturer.
