I like the quartz composite counter top.
quartz is a good counter alternative
Quartz composites are a newer and growing category in the countertop world. Composites are made from stone aggregate and polymers that compressed under high pressure. The resulting material is practically non-porous and just as strong as most natural stones. Since it's a manufactured product, it has

quartz surfacing is an interesting countertop option
Quartz SurfacingCrafted of resin and quartz chips tinted with color, quartz surfacing (also called engineered quartz or engineered stone) is a good compromise between the beauty of stone and the easy care of solid surfacing. Bellingham counter on our island with similar white shaker style cabinets in our kitchen remodel. But, we have existing natural oak floors that are in the adjoining living room we are planning to extend into the kitchen. Do you think the Bellingham counter would look nice with our natural oak floors too
natural quartz varies throughout the design. You can take another look at a Bellinham island here: http://www.houzz.com/projects/54784/Kitchens.
Absolutely stunning! Is quartz cheaper than marble and is it easier to look after? Thank you!
natural quartz have the same issues (scratching, staining, etc) as marble? Or is it more duarble like manufactured quartz. Again...google has not revealed the answer.
This is real quartz and not man made and would be priced similar to an upper level marble. It is between granite and marble as far as
particular quartz is softer than granite as far as the fabrication goes but hard once installed. BUT it will show stains a little similar to white marble. The scratches would show on this like any polished stone. It is not as durable as manufactured quartz at all. You would need to treat this like you would
love our quartz countertops! Again, easy to clean, never stains and easy to maintain.

con's and pro or engineered quartz
Engineered quartz has many bragging rights. Thanks to the quartz content, it's tough like granite, and the resin makes the material malleable and impact resistant. Both materials offer stout durability. Engineered quartz is also nonporous, making it resistant to stains and scratches. And this material has
engineered quartz can be fabricated in larger pieces and with fewer joints.Cons: The resin content isn't heat tolerant, so keep your trivets nearby.
