Save Water1. Add a rain barrel. Setting up a rain barrel can be quite easy, and you'll save money on your water bill — I mean, it's free water. The rain barrel here uses an ornamental rain chain to collect water
water, but any aluminum downspout can be cut and angled to rest atop a rain barrel. Make sure the barrel has a screen cover to filter out debris and prevent any wildlife from dropping in. While you're out there, check to make sure none of your garden hoses are leaking — just as with a dripping faucet

Blend it in. If you'd rather your barrel blend in, tuck it into the corner and surround it with soft plantings. Repeating the terra cotta elements in the rest of the space provides design

different look for a rain barrel
On a similar vein, consider turning a fountain into a rain barrel. The scrollwork spigot could easily be attached to a downspout and you could add a hose end to the bottom of the pot. Hidden pipework is an added expense but worth it for the final look.

Most rain chains are copper and a single chain. This is a better color for me and the multiple chains are a great look. What specifically are they? Thanks for your help.
Where can I get this rain barrel? Or a web site? Thank you.
All, this is not exactly a rain barrel but a filter. Through the chains water is sent to this filter which has layers of sand, gravel , a mesh and charcoal. Two pipes are hidden within, which take the filtered water to an underground tank . Rainwater is stored in this underground tank and used for all

Consider adding a rain barrel. The average temperature in May is 85 degrees, and our average rainfall is 4 1/2 inches. The problem, as we all know too well, is that Texas is anything but average — our temperatures can easily soar into the 90s, and we can see May come and go without a drop of rain. So in areas
areas like ours, where water is a precious resource, consider adding a rainwater collection system, like a rain barrel. Just a few showers in May can help nourish your garden throughout the summer.
