Is the wood siding treated with anything? What upkeep is required?

I am trying to figure out how some builders get a more consistent look and color in the barn wood.
The wood is not treated. Over time it will deteriorate, but because this is already weathered barn wood, the aesthetic look won't change. Boards will need to be replaced at some point in the future.
Yes there are some areas where you can see through the wood and to the black house wrap. The product is a 2 ply jumbo tex from Fortifiber over OSB, so not the traditional felt. This was done for improved tear resistance, better water protection, and more breathable. It has a short warranty, but felt
