I like how the track lighting looks more professional--not plasticky. They're both decorative and functional.
Here the lighting serves not only an illuminating purpose, but in a very MoMA way highlights the art throughout the room.

this have no need for the doors to slide back in - Not only is that a waste of space, but the purpose of the doors is to remain closed to hide the clutter that's on the shelves and racks within.
I doubt they're slate tile. They are more likely slate colored porcelain tile.
