Designed by Seattle architect Lionel Pries in 1950, the original plan of this home has been only slightly modified to create larger kitchen and master bath areas and a downstairs recreation space. The entire home was updated with new finishes and fixtures, and a freestanding carport was added.

Love these doors. I just wish such custom work wasn't so out of reach.

Love to have this over the pond. See children on their tummies reaching into the water and splashing.
Love the simplicity and how it floats over the water. Anjie and I are both really interested in seeing if this "gazebo floating over pool" design would work with our pool. The roof is too much for us, but basic idea of wood roof shingles is ok.

modern webbed chairs. Webbing was a common World War II–era furniture material and became a midcentury classic; the designs sprang from a lack of materials available, and clever designers, like Jens Risom and Ralph Rapson, made do with what they had. Rapson was also a Case Study architect.

The Cook house at The Sea Ranch was designed to meet the needs an active family with two young children, who wanted to take full advantage of coastal living. As The Sea Ranch reaches full build-out, the major design challenge is to create a sense of shelter and privacy amid an expansive meadow and
beauty. Scuba diving, hiking, and beach play meant a significant amount of sand would accompany the family home from their outings, so the architect designed an outdoor shower and an adjacent mud room to help contain the outdoor elements. Durable finishes such as the concrete floors are up to the challenge
