Is it a wood floor or a look-a-like alternative? I'm interested in using wood floors in a bathroom (or engineered wood) but am hesitant based on durability concerns. Thanks!

what reclaimed wood did you use on fireplace - and where did you order from!
Can you use recycled wood as a surround for a gas fireplace? Are there safety codes?
of the wood around the fireplace?
I absolutely love what you have done here with the fireplace and want to reface our terrible brick one and do this with reclaimed wood. I have had trouble finding the appropriate insert and dealing with the codes etc. Questions: 1)
gas or wood burning insert? 2) Which insert is it (make & model if possible)? 3) What codes are required (i.e. distance from insert to combustible material (i.e. the wood). Thanks so much. I am really really trying to do this.
The wood is reclaimed old growth Douglas Fir (regular framing lumber) 2x4's cut in half, and we got it from the Rebuilding Exchange in Chicago. If you live nearby, you should definitely check it out, they have a wealth of reclaimed materials for all kinds of building projects. http://www.rebuildingexchange
