Can you paint your dining room red if you have a really open interior? You sure can. Just look for a natural "stopping" point for the red. It's best if the adjoining wall color is a color that compliments the red paint color you've chosen.

It is paint. And it was Mars red by Benjamin Moore. In this photo it looks more red. But in fact it's an orange/red colour.
Not sure about the paint or epoxy issue, but Benjamin Moore's Navajo Red is a similar color.

Red is eye catching. I prefer to see an accent wall of red against a black cabinet or floor versus a whole room painted red. An accent wall gives the eye somewhere to pause so it can take in the rest of the room.

base of neutral colors that weren't too light (i.e. they don't show dirt and spills). Punches of brighter colors were brought in via the red dining chairs, a few accent pillows and the Missoni fabric on the kitchen chairs.

renovated and the owner had not moved a lot of his things in. So the kitchen was staged specifically for these photos by a stylist - we discussed the accent colors and styles, but I do not know exactly where each piece came from.

What is the name of the color used for the red accent walls? Thanks
through the color book has brought up "poppy" (1315) by Benjamin Moore as a pretty close match. "ryan red" (1314) just above this sample is a nice alternate with more of an orange approach, like a cadmium red light.
