like this back splash idea -- not too expensive because not the whole wall is done. Also, the use of wood on the vertical is more economic than the quartz/granite wrap. -DS

Choosing bathroom countertop - addition to our craftsman style MT home. Granite & limestone remnants hard to find due to length of surface (7ft). Quartz? Quartzite? Corian? Need help! (P.S. I hate grout lines!)

a hole, that area may be cut out and replaced, without a hint of ever being damaged at all...you cannot say the same thing for a granite, marble or quartz...
many, many times of wiping the counter off, it will become shinier and shinier. Solid surface WILL scratch easier, but the scratches and stains (like red hot sauce, grape juice, etc) can be removed with fine sandpaper and/or a green scotch-brite. Grey Scotch-Brite pads can be found in the auto industry
