with the intention of taking over the upper suite and opening up the main floor. in the process, the whole house has been gutted & refurbished. there's a lovely & legal suite in the basement, a beauitiful open concept main floor plan and 3 bedrooms upstairs with a gorgeous vaulted ceiling in the mezannine
It really looks like a prefinished, handscraped, stained, hickory floor.
my clients made the final flooring decision and I'm not sure what it is they chose.

Hi. Love the floor so much that we are putting it in our bathroom. What did you use to seal it? Thanks in advance.
I am also using this floor and would like to know about the sealer! Just beautiful!
Thank you for your question. We love it when people recognize something in our work that they'd like to see in their own homes. The floor tile is a slate material called California Gold. We are a fulll service architecture and interior design firm working nationally on projects big and small
Contrast of dark floor and countertops with light colored cabinets. Nice simple look.

knowing what kind of hardwood floors were used. Thanks!
Thank you for the very informative comment previously about the floor color. I absolutely LOVE your home and the floor color is fantastic. Everyone I speak to about dark floors says its hard to keep the clean
yourself (and your floor sander!) crazy, you can also mix stains. Just be sure to record what you combined. The last thing you might investigate is "popping" which means that the stain is applied to a damp floor. It will cost more because it's more labor intensive -- some floor sanders won't do it--
Thank you so much for your nice comment. The floors are white oak, tongue and groove; the planks are about 3 wide" -- very basic materials. We had them sanded down to bare wood, and used Minwax's Jacobean stain. It's quite dark, more so than appears in the photo. So, if what you are liking about
