Where did you purchase the stone in the wall, what is the color/name of the stone???
brick to support older wall .am thinking of installing some pvc fenceing along sides.i cant wait to see these flower beds finished and watch them grow...so pleased I found your discussion...thank you. Gloria hanna northern ireland.
It looks like you have some retaining wall block installed at the
the back of the triangular bed on the right. In any case, you want to complete the back of the bed with the wall block used for the rest of the bed. Using a cap block will keep the look consistent, but you can cut it to the width of the block, since you will not need the edge to overhang back there.
free standing so no soil is up against the fence. There is no cap on that side so it has as thin a profile as possible. We did put another layer of wall block there to keep the level the same all the way around.

A significant transformation
that water no longer drains into the basement, to creating terrific outdoors spaces and fencing off the traffic on the adjacent road. The stone retaining wall was built using reclaimed stone wallstones, and helps form one edge of the new brick and stone patio. The new rear porch connects the rear of

curious as to whether this is cost effective rather than continuation of the block retaining wall. What is the cost of these steel lengths? I am thinking of doing something very similar but love the idea of retaining long stretches with steel

LOVE the metal wall with Concrete
A combination of concrete and metal in this shot works as a defined edge for the lawn, as a retaining wall for a raised planting bed, and as a design statement in the landscape.

Entrance courtyard
This entrance to a 1920's Tuteur home is much lower than the street. We re-graded to correct drainage problems, added stone walls and bluestone walks for a cozy courtyard entrance. Lots of shade plants were installed for a lush garden.

love the curvature of the brick; the retaining wall; all the greenery; the slate
While the walls featured above are fairly formal and contemporary, here the look is more rustic. I like this wall, which appears to be dry stacked. This look can often be achieved with recycled or reclaimed materials.
