there is no clear cut answer onhow many per square meter. Each situation will vary when underplanting depending upon the tree root size. And in each garden I may treat it differently . As here one would have to clear whatever your root size is & evn the smae size tree can have a differing root dimension
This is in the Uk . The paint is a exterior `Micro porous ` paint , meaning it allows timber to breathe, if water gets in to the timber it can also get out & dry. Lots of timber specialists make microporpous paint such a Dulux. Sadolin also make excellent timber
