Who made the wood slab desk ?
Yes the bookcases are custom made. I find this allows for the best fit with a space. Wood in this case is maple with both a clear finish and a stain for the darker finish.

Can you get wood stain matched like you can with paint?
paint, wood stain is not opaque. This means it cannot completely mask whatever it is being applied to. The material beneath the stain contributes a lot to the final appearance. Different wood pieces will reveal different hues of stain. This can happen with the same stain on the same wood or different
can bring a finished piece that has the desired stain on it to a paint store, or something similar. You should also bring a piece of the unfinished wood along with it. You will leave both samples, and the store will go to work trying to stain match the original piece with the new one. You can also
can directly apply more of the red hued stain, or the orange hued stain, or the brown hued stain, to bring the colors together. That also goes with wood pieces that absorb too much stain or too little. Porous pieces can be scrubbed, and denser pieces can have more stain applied.
