Vintage barn frame addition to Dutch stone house
The old ladder built in to the side of a post was originally to access the barn loft. The beautiful custom made long, long table and chairs in the center of the great barn room and the open kitchen in the background with the old stone house beyond seen through the transomed door openings. Two high windows
the ladder is from the original barn which had a hayloft floor above the main level, the floor boards of which we removed to open up the space. The ladder accessed the hayloft.
The room is 31' wide by 46' long. These are the exterior dimensions of the original barn frame. We put all the insulation
insulation and painted tongue and groove wood wall surface on the outside of the barn frame so the entire structure would be fully visible from the inside.
