use a different type of flagstone for a contrasting appearance. It's a little tricky to construct level and secure seating, so I recommend hiring a crew to build your flagstone seating wall.

Informal Garden - A Side Yard Garden Path in Glenview, Illinois

Questions7
The Glenview, Illinois landscape design, features blue stone and crushed blue stone path, water feature, garden plants, and wall.
I like the lattice privacy wall - what is it called if I try to have one built across my deck
the path and only one to the left. The fountain — the dominant mass in this space — sits two grids away from the path but is centered between the seat wall and the loosely clipped boxwood hedge. The checkerboard arrangement of paving and plants is playful and enlivening, while serving as a repeating theme

What is the stone for wall in this picture? Real or vaneer?
We are redoing outdoor patios and entrances and are building a wall similar to this in the design
Hello Sheri - The wall core is cmu masonry, the footings are framed/poured concrete, and the wall stone is a custom limestone veneer blend. "Veneer" means that the stone is attached to the face of the wall.

Where did you purchase the stone in the wall, what is the color/name of the stone???
brick to support older wall .am thinking of installing some pvc fenceing along sides.i cant wait to see these flower beds finished and watch them grow...so pleased I found your discussion...thank you. Gloria hanna northern ireland.
It looks like you have some retaining wall block installed at the
the back of the triangular bed on the right. In any case, you want to complete the back of the bed with the wall block used for the rest of the bed. Using a cap block will keep the look consistent, but you can cut it to the width of the block, since you will not need the edge to overhang back there.
free standing so no soil is up against the fence. There is no cap on that side so it has as thin a profile as possible. We did put another layer of wall block there to keep the level the same all the way around.
