The roman shades were custom made by a local fabricator with my own selected fabric.
this photo, the striking green color contrasting with the walls brings an intimate look and a spot of connecting color. If you're using a different shade of the same color, I don't think you'd get the same effect.
Go garden green. The inspiration for this dining room was a garden that's framed by the room's windows. "The clients wanted the majority of the house interiors to reflect the cool blues
on property," says designer Elizabeth Gordon. "The grounds were renovated as well, and I wanted many of the rooms to feel like an extension of the garden spaces surrounding the house."Ceiling covering: custom design, Robert Crowder; artwork: "Woods," Lee Jofa

I have a entry similar to this one.Part shade/part sun. What plants did you use in this garden as well as by the front door? Thanks I love it.
Fern grow well in shade so you could put different types of fern some with some red or purple in them. Another plant that does well in shade is Acuba and of course the Japanese maple trees do well in part shade, part sun.

The tree provides nice shade and privacy. I would love some kind of fruit tree.
Very cozy garden, great for friends and family
covered area from garden room ?
Although we won't have foliage for shade, adding a covered patio as a porch or with a trellis would help protect a dining area from rain or wind but would still provide the reason to be outside
Beautiful shade in a not-so-big patio
