Shade - Little Honey oakleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea guercifolio)
My favorite find of the past few years hands down is 'Little Honey' oakleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia 'Little Honey', zones 5 to 9). If you know oakleaf, you know it is an easy-to-grow plant, works well even in dry shade

these plants and could this work for georgia climate?
for part shade/shade area. (Common name is Japanese Forest Grass) I like the 'All Gold' because it's brighter than other cultivars of Hakonechloa. I hope this helps!
would plant one that is evergreen though. The foliage of the fern (Onoclea sensibilis) in the photo dies back to the ground every year. I would suggest an Alaska Fern (Polystichum setiferum) in a container. I hope this helps!
type of plant tucked in behind others?
lush garden by mixing different textures and shades of plants to create visual interest
Hackinochloa - The plant in the middle. It has a beautiful light green leaf and really brightens the garden.
choice of plants it can make a wonderful color-theme planting. The foliage in this border is both soothing and refreshing and makes me think of the traditional temple gardens of Japan.

Partial shade Water requirement: Medium moisture Size: 1 foot to 1 1/2 feet tall and wide
to the shade gardening scene compared to painted fern, 'Jack Frost' brunnera (Brunnera macrophylla 'Jack Frost', zones 3 to 8) is destined to become a classic in its own right. Big-leaved brunnera grows into a proper clump, 1½ feet high and wide, and is a gem for all kinds of shady sites, dry shade included
ferns for shade but brings something more sophisticated to the table. Brunnera blooms with blue, forget-me-not-like flowers in spring.
Bright foliage also creates an evening glow in the garden. Light-colored, variegated and silver-leaf plants reflect any available light, be it artificial or natural,

bright plantings punctuate the landscape. Native moss joints create a soft, porous carpet between antique cobblestones. A salvaged Maine granite pier rises from the earth to form the pedestal of a table—the centerpiece of the garden. Interior and exterior spaces blend to expand urban living.

A tapestry of green. This wonderful shade planting
good mix of shade loving plants
wonderful shade planting scheme shows us just how foliage alone can give us a great amount of color, creating a green tapestry. The shapes and color of leaves provide much interest. In fact, the shapes of leaves can almost be as varied as the shapes of flowers. While foliage is seldom bright (there are colorful
