classic Shingle Style. The house is anchored to the land by stone retaining walls made entirely of granite taken from the site during construction. Clad almost entirely in cedar shingles, the house will weather to a classic grey. Photo Credit: Blind Dog Studio

TOOOO MUCH SHINGLE SIDING STUFF - EVEN THE PORCH POSTS!!!
ns on Shingle StyleMedieval form. The medieval Queen Anne form is apparent in this newly constructed shingle-style house. Notice how the shingles curve into certain window groups and how the top-floor windows have a brow above them. Also authentic to originals are double-hung windows with divided lights
wrapped in shingle, which was one of several options of the style. Some had simple classical columns, while others had massive stone- or shingle-clad piers at their porches.Does your house have a medieval heritage?

I'm reshingling a portion of my house and removing the clapboard and love this look, are these shingles by Maibec? Love the color of these as well, and am looking at Maibec as an option...there is a color close to this house. This house was beautifully done,
were the shingle installed when picture was taken. Is there much of a difference in color now"
What kind of routine maintenance must be done on the roof and exterior shingles to maintain them?
the roof shingles are not Maibec.
Is the roof Maibec shingles as well? Roof and siding same type of shingle just different colors?
these shingles are Maibec kiln dried white cedar shingles pre-dipped in Cabot’s bleaching oil. As a reminder, in digital display true colors may vary. http://www.maibec.com/en/products/wood-siding-colours-cabot-bleaching-oil

love the shingle stain. Would you mind sharing the color/type? Thanks!
Really like the contrast between roof and shakes - what roofing shingle did you use?
cedar shingles? Our builder is recommending charcoal black. It's quite dark. I'm not sure. Thx!
cedar shingles w/ bleaching oil makes for lighter shingles.
The shingles abd the entrance and roof are appealing.

Dipping shingles. When I remodeled my house years ago, I decided to dress up the place with shingles. I liked the look of stained shingles, and knew they lasted longer if both sides were stained, so I decided to save some money and dip them myself. Outside. In February. For several weekends I braved the
thousands of shingles into a bucket of stain, then spread them out to dry. Finally, the great day came: the contractor nailed them onto the house. And I didn’t … like … the way … they looked. I lived with those shingles for a year. And when the misery of dipping them started to fade from my memory, I painted
stained shingles that taunts me to this day. And you know what? By itself, it doesn’t look so bad. OK, readers: It’s your turn. What’s the dumbest decorating decision you have ever made?More: Fix Those ‘Whoopsies’: 9 Fast Solutions for Decorating Mistakes

What is the color/name of the shingle?
Handcrafted Shingle Panels versus no warranty for bundles. Panels do cost more versus bundles of shingles but the panels have three layers of protection with the plywood backer, fiberglass matte, and shingles themselves. The additional money you pay for the panels stay with you and your home versus walking
on the shingles? I'm having the hardest time finding the right stain color and would be so grateful for your input.
So quirky. Shingled roof. Windows. Red door.

The siding shingles are cedar and are stained with Cabot Wood Toned Deck & Siding Stain in the color 'Weathered Grey".
