Did you consider the angle of the sun, and the amount of shade this design would create?
solar orientation is not as critical as other areas may be. If you desired more shade, you could always go over the top beams with smaller slats in the other direction that would provide much more shade cover.
This shade structure was custom built-- and not purchased as a pre-manufactured product.
