What tile was used for the flooring?
6 x 12 gray slate tile laid in a brick pattern
Tile instead of laminate wood flooring. Pairs nicely with white
Using red and gray at home: Red and gray are quite easy to work with, especially when the gray is a natural material (like slate tiles) and the red is a glossy accent, like the Tolix stools shown here. Think of the red as a fiery flash — the burst of a bonfire

type of slate? Do you know if it is available in Canada? What do you mean by hand select? Also, is this patio on a concrete base? I was wondering why you used such thick stone? We are planning a 900 square foot patio on a concrete base and we were told that 3/4 inch would be thick enough. Thanks!

mosaic tile and vertically stacked slate.
Did you design and do the tile work yourself?
but a tile setter did the work. I thought the vertical slabs in the back corner turned out well.
mosaic tile is truly amazing in this asian-inspired bathroom and I think is gorgeous how the vertically stacked slate looks rustic and modern at the same time. The dark tone and exotic plants create a sultry and high-end look that is worthy of a magazine cover.
