molding do to the tray ceiling or is it flush to the ceiling?
Identical ceiling but in very small bedroom with oversized fireplace and narrow window in the bigger, tall end wall. Can't figure out hoe to paint angle and ceiling to make room larger and or how to dress window to fit scale of wall without overwhelming
the visual height, paint the angled walls up to the ceiling. For window treatments, tall fabric panels installed as high as possible typically helps make the ceiling feel higher.
I believe it is called a "hipped" ceiling.
You could definitely do that. The way that we painted this room was to help the appearance of the high ceiling.
I have the same ceiling in a much smaller space. Would I still paint the angle the same colour as the wall and leave the highest surface white, as you have

Ceiling is lovely, what type of wood material was used?
I would love information on the ceiling. Stain shades compliment each
What is the wood on the ceiling
It's an original redwood ceiling, unstained.
Can you tell me how high the highest part of the ceiling is?

Don't like the color with the ceiling, or the white trim with wood ceiling. Good for what not to do.

Metal on ceilings and refurbished wood
The clients loved the rusted tin on the home's exterior but wanted a more refined look inside. Clean tin was applied to the ceiling, while the walls were covered in reclaimed longleaf pine. Milk paint gives the wood a slightly whitewashed look that allows the grain and character to shine through.
10. These exposed sloping rafters charmed Houzz staffer Ofir Zwebner of Mountain View, California. They create an overall mood of casual elegance.
Though providing the same structure and support as rafters, low sloping beams are called ceiling joists.

natural wood finishes in a ceiling plane can sometimes create. This space feels clean and minimalist, but not without interest and detail. White framing members can often feel cottage-like regardless of the scale of a space.
high ceiling - open floor plan - all white
shadow but raises the vertical dimension of a room significantly. Not surprisingly, it also reduces the “hat” effect that natural wood finishes in a ceiling plane can sometimes create. I am buying a house at the beach with ceilings like this; however, they are purple!! So, I am having them painted white - do I paint it flat or with a sheen to it? I have seen both, not sure which route to go.

Please help me understand the lofted ceiling. Are those false rafters? If so I am sure there is air space between the ceiling and roof. If not, then is it insulated? Is there an air space?
13. Hang a statement-making chandelier or pendant light. Make the most of the vertical space at the height of your attic ceiling with a hanging light fixture. Supplement it with table lamps — floor lamps tend to look awkward in attics.
