Ignore the decor, small desk and drawer, shelve combo. but we'd want a cabinet instead of open shelving.

Fall for fittedA purpose-built desk is often the best way to make the most of available space. Here, a small, simple table forms part of a wall of bespoke storage.

question but i just want to know whether i can still use the built-in oven without the cabinet. Can i just place the oven on top of a counter? i know that small (portable ovens) have stands in order for the air/heat to circulate underneath it. Is this going to be a problem if i will just put in on top of a cabinet

However as the gap is pretty small this is not something that has been a problem -- but then kids hands and fingers are not big - and I bet swinging it is fun. I have a couple of ideas

A small addition made all the difference in creating space for cooking and eating. Environmentally friendly design features include recycled denim insulation in the walls, a bamboo floor, energy saving LED undercabinet lighting, Energy Star appliances, and an antique table. Photo: Wing Wong
she has a great light made from oxidized copper. But her kitchen is a much smaller L Shape. Do you think the dark counters would make it look to small?
keep patterns not so busy (backsplash and countertop) keep the kitchen looking uncluttered and you should have no problem with the kitchen looking small even if you decide to go with a darker colored kitchen.
the height & depth of the shelf space was confirmed. The width of the cabinet is 30". The microwave is GEJES1142SJ which is discontinued, but any small countertop style microwave will work on a shelf. This one is approximately W21 x D 15.75 x H12. Be sure to leave space around it for air circulation
