least here in the NW. Good example you could apply this to is a back yard deck with two steps. I agree it is the perfect loft for kids. When I was a kid any large box was my loft. The only thing it required was tape, a marker and some imagination.
Love loft space and storage stairs

Small space with everything you need.
The plant is right at home in this well-designed and compact studio apartment. Its selection says that this houseplant is low maintenance, doesn't make a mess and has proportions that work in a small space, where visual flow is important.Seeing this plant here also reminds me of its stature

How high is the ceiling? I have a room with a tall ceiling & we were thinking of a loft, but this looks really, really high...16 ft?
Did you have blue prints for the loft/ladder etc
I have been trying to figure out the code for loft space with respect to stairs vs ladders. Everything I've seen seems to indicate that if the space is "inhabitable"(coded
I've been looking for a space saving one to replace the attic ladder leading to the loft in our tiny cabin...
What are the dimensions of the overall cottage? I'd also love to know dimensions of loft too, if possible. Thank you.
Is the ceiling in the loft the underside of the roof? If so, what happens to the nails from the roof shingles? If not, how do you get the look and provide ventilation for the roofing materials? I love this look for my 1920s cottage. Thanks

Photo by Robert Perron A house built in phases- here is the Phase 2 living room with loft. Plans for this house are available through our Lucia's Little Houses division: www.luciaslittlehouses.com
We are converting our attic into a loft, but have been told we can't do a ladder because it doesn't meet code. Must be a ladder. How do get around this?
What is the size of the loft area?
good to know thanks for getting back to me but the loft wouldn't work for us too old to climb those stairs at night for washroom runs teeee heeeee
The loft is 17'x8'. You can see the floor plan (and download the full portfolio of Lucia's Little Houses for free!) here: http://knightarchitect.com/lucias
Unfortunately, you may not be able to get around it. Where this house was built there were no code restrictions that prohibited this loft ladder. Your best bet it to talk to builders in your area and see if they have ever built something that satisfies the code in your area.

I love this pool house. We are going to build a small cabin in Montana and would love to put in a loft similar to this. Do you mind telling me the ceiling height of this pool house? Thanks so much.
We just built a house and last minute decided to add a loft. Now we need access to that loft. Where can you purchase that ladder, I really like it better than other things I have looked at.

I love the proportions of this space. Looks maybe 14' wide? Loft ceiling height maybe 6 feet high? 7? Ceiling below loft maybe 8 feet?
Thanks for your question! Yes, this house is local, located in Marblehead, MA. There is no bedroom, the loft sleeps up to two people. More Siemaskos?! Quite a small world!

Very attractive, small space. Love it.
The sleeping loft is perched above the French door entrance like a cradle swathed with fresh air that comes in from one of three windows. De la Vega likens the resting experience in the loft to sleeping outside in the summertime. "I love the simplicity and efficiency of the house," she says. "It is cozy
