about soapstone. Soapstone does not stain. Soapstone counters are not harmed by hot pots, citrus, wine, acids or chemicals. The only maintanance recommended, not required, is the mineral oil treatment to enhance the natural darkening process the stone goes through and to ensure the soapstone darkens evenly

What is the thickness of the soapstone counter tops? 2cm, 3cm? Also, would you happen to know the thickness of the island counter top? Thanks.
What material are the dark counters?
Thanks for your question. Soapstone comes in a common color of grayish/green, depending on what your local stone place has. Oiled soapstone will always be darker, which is what these counter tops are.
Thanks for your question. The soapstone counter tops are 1-1/4" thick and the island counter top is 2" thick.
Yes, the island counter top is Solid Walnut.

The island marble selection is Statuary White, and it is thicker than the soapstone counter on the perimeter. We worked with the fabricator on an approximately 2 1/4" thickness to achieve a substantial look. All the best to you on your project
