designed cabinet grounds the massive screen while concealing the components. The walls were upholstered and tufted to give a cozy feeling while absorbing sound from the surround system. A platform was added to allow for additional seating in this elegant theater. The result is a fabulous room to watch a movie

Sound Absorption: Carpet is a good sound absorption. I would use a sound absorption cover flooring in a movie room.

how is the speaker grills made?
What speakers were used (floor standing or in wall, front ported or rear)? And if floor standing,
Thank you for the question! The speakers were forward firing Triad Gold in room LCR's and center. The effects of the cabinet were mitigated by completely wrapping the speakers in acoustic cotton on sides, top, and rear to allow the sound to only fire forward. Processor, Amps, and EQ by Audio Control
We custom build the speaker enclosures and utilize acoustically transparent material.
The ceiling has a checkered patern (roughly 3' x 3') of 2" acoustic cotton affixed to sheet rock. Black surface is stretched fabric. Lighting fixtures were blocked down 2" to level with fabric. Thanks for looking

The Egg Chair designed by Arne Jacobsen is a modernist throne if I ever saw one. What better chair for a man to sit in while enjoying his surround-sound! Okay, here's a challenge for you. Post a picture below of the ugly man chair you are enduring now, or the beautiful one you've found to replace it

someone tell me if it is important to have a carpet on the floor in a home theater ? Is the sound better ?
Can someone tell me if it is important to have a carpet on the floor in a home theater ? Is the sound better ? Or would hard wood floors do the same ?
what expensive sound panels will do. Absort sound.
Hi , peg49. Yes to carpet, absolutely. While comfort is a nice by-product the main reason is it helps absorb sound. We also recommend using "sound panels" on the walls. We usually run a room thru our software to locate and optimize sound panel locations
Yes to carpet. It helps absorb sound. If this is a diy project then pass up on the sound panels unless you have a big budget for it. Most home theaters "experts" recommend sound panels yet they themselves have no idea on the proper use and placement of these

How does the in-ceiling speakers compare to eye level speakers?
I'm looking at the in-ceiling option and was concerned that the sound would be distorted coming from the ceiling. What's been your experience. Thanks, Mike
Where did you find the ottoman? Does it come in different fabrics?
are great for a discreet install, and can really enhance the sound quality of a room. Essentially, there are many different varieties of ceiling speakers, the quality of which really comes down to your budget. The typical ceiling speakers which we specify are £250 per pair - you can of course spend less
