West Seattle Skybox Addition
Pls adv the tread and riser size of bookcase staircase! Excellent space saver.
Especially with a tread of that depth. I could offer design help, but I'd need a better understanding of your space parameters. A photo and/or sketch would help.
Thanks for your reply.. Planning for a loft staircase. Have an area 75" wide and bottom of loft 75" so 15" tall and 15" deep but worried height
Cool way to add space and stairs
the functional stairs that double as storage space.
Not surprisingly, storage under stairs tends to be common in small spaces, many of them urban lofts like the preceding example. This stair is technically a bookcase, since it’s not code compliant and the opening to the roof access where the person is heading is too low — watch your head!

storage baskets, eclectic style, small living space without a tv or fireplace
Schofield paid close attention to the main living space inside the entrance — what she calls the "landing strip." An outer vestibule helps keep clutter outside. "Keeping one little area uncluttered [adds] to the sense of order and cleanliness for the entire space — it really sets the tone," she says.

luxurious looking/feeling free space. The sliding wall doubles for a projection screen, giving a huge screen feel. Great use of contrasting color and textures. I like use of vertical and horizontal line emphasis in the kitchen and the table benches. Great use of storage space.

don't need a murphy bed, but a separate very small space that is tucked away might be another idea.

The open space had plenty of benefits, but he needed to find a spot for the bed that still felt private. A custom Murphy bed and sliding door did the trick while keeping

Bedroom transformation
Just love the style of this room. Painted floors. Quirky floor plan due to available attic space.

To reach this guest room space, one needs to ascend the staircase off the kitchen/dining room (there were always two staircases in this house). The staircase entered from the dining room/kitchen leads up here to the guest room and the homeowner's studio (which is through that cute little angled door

Are the drop ceilings and the fireplace wall in front of the bed a different color from the wall stripes? This entire space is amazing.
