Love the stairs! What kind and where can I find the support backets.
Should the assumption be the stairs passed inspection because they existed when the house was built in the 50's? Thank you.
is it possible to see the whole floor plan? I like the split level but I have a narrow lot

open railing and wide expanse of open windows makes this space so classy and celebrates the dreaded split level

Too often, split-level stairs look clunky and awkward. These appear to float, underscoring the restful lines and serene feel of the space.
SOUTH COOGEE - House
The staircase is in the centre of the house so it needed to have its own presence yet still feel part of the decor. The recycled timber stairs connected to the joinery in the rest of the open plan room Photography by Sue Murray - imagineit.net.au
Are the stairs also the same laminate wood as the other flooring ?
Love the flooring, and decided to go with it in a rennovation in Melbourne. Obviously going to have the same issue with matching the stairs, are they just KD stairs with a stain mix.
What's with the horizontal stair railing?
No if you use laminate on stairs you don't have a great edging option so we purchased recycled timber for the stairs and created our own stain to pick up the tones of the flooring and it has worked really well!

This recycled timber staircase frames 2 levels of this house. It separates the spaces yet keeps them open to ensure the light and airy feel is maintained. Photography by Sue Murray - imagineit.net.au
How were the stair stringer's detailed to properly secure them to the upper floor? Were they just toe-screwed in? Or is there something I am missing? Love the unique design!

I like the idea of the free standing stair case that stands out as a sculpture. I also like the contrast between colors and materials

of the entryway and two flights of stairs, the main flooring elements meet. The home’s entry sits on a concrete slab, then there are steps down to a cantilevered foundation (it floats above the oak’s roots) with wood floors finished with a gray stain. The stairs are pine, stained a dark ebony.
