metallic paint was used here? I'm asking because I just painted my dining room with a metallic paint and a faux finish on top and it looks similar. Thanks!

metallic paint was used, or it can also be that the glaze has highlights as well. Either way, I think you could use a metallic paint as one of your colors you combine for your faux finish.
It also helps that this area has the pendant light reflection, so that may be giving it the metallic look as well
