Not sure which manufacturer this is but I ordered mine from Architectural Ceramics in Maryland (also in Virginia) They sourced it from one of their stone vendors. Mine has greenish undertones, like this, and is called Earthslate.
This is more contemporary than creek stone
Is this thin enough to just lay over existing stone?
“their stone vendors. Mine has greenish undertones, like this, and is called Earthslate.”
Rock paneling, shown here, is an applied rock veneer that is lighter and easier to install than traditional stone.

This impressive stacked-stone figure on the path to a Japanese teahouse is based on the inukshuk, a landmark cairn long used by native Arctic peoples. But it does have hoodoo genes: The Inuit also created inukshuk-like markers with the design requirement that they always resemble figures.

Traditional Living Room featuring a stacked stone fireplace.
Did you install the fp and stone around it or stone and then mount fp?
I had one installed and you can see the sheetrock behind it… I am wondering if they should have stoned first and then installed the fp?
We installed the fireplace first than added the stack stone around the lip of the fireplace. We also used concrete board instead of drywall which helps support the weight of the stone better. :-) Our number is (407) 509-4060
We produce a variety of stacked stones. Here is one of them.
