“based stain by trying to press the stain into the wood. Let it somewhat dry, rub off and repeat.
My favorite stain is the Minn Wax Provencial as a base. Then we dilute the base with 2:1 mineral spirits to stain. We apply with the grain, then across the grain and wipe off any shiny spots after”
