how is the seam sealed between the stainless steel and butcher block? What type of glue is used to join them? thanks
How are the stainless and wood seamed?
I am currently planning my kitchen remodel but I have the question above to answer. I am covering the peninsula with stainless for a cooktop, and the main counter will be granite. I hope you can help
pieces wouldn't necessarily be glued together. The wood top would be screwed from underneath to the cabinets it sits on, and the ditto for the stainless steel one. A bean of clear silicone would be used between the two in order to avoid a crevasse from crumbs, but not to glue them together per se.
Thanks! It appears this stainless falls in the middle of the butcher block..is that correct?

Stainless Steel (Can you believe how disciplined they are with the white china?)
White in the kitchen is also chic, especially when stainless steel appliances have been installed. Even white dishes can be layered and paired to create a unique kitchen.
DurabilityWhile steel is naturally an extremely durable material, alloys can be even more durable. Stainless steel is a mix of chromium (and other elements in varying proportions) and steel; the result is a highly resilient, corrosion-resistant surface.

Hi there, We had these counters custom made. It is stainless steel sheeting formed over a MDF core.
In our case yes, stainless is more cost effective than granite. That being said, the durability or the two products are quite different, so being clear on what you expect from your counters would be impportant. We do not recommend stainless for everyone.
