standard 36"h island counter is also a great option. (but be sure to get 24"h stools)
My cabinet rep said that they use steel "L" shaped brackets that go down and connect to the back side of the base cabinets. I haven't seen it, but that's how it was described to me.
the stain on the island is gorgeous. i like the pairing with the white cabinets in the back.
