middle of the day. the solution that we came up with was the location of the stairs along the long south property line, combined with the glass railing, skylights, and some windows into the stair well. we allowed the stairs to project through the glass as thought the glass had sliced through the steps

Yes, It was designed by our firm for this particular installation-and yes, it functions as a Lapeyre stair.

too quickly (I've been wondering about rubber?!) How do you stop the wallpaper risers from being scuffed by shoes or being ruined by cleaning the stairs (eg mopping or vacuuming)?

I'm curious how many RAMPS have been built instead of stairs in new custom homes? And how much more difficult or not, would that be? It certainly would be easier moving furniture and safer for children especially
