close your stairs are to the window/wall next to the hung art. Is there any space at all in between or do the stair treads go right up against the window frame? I really like the large window design behind the staircase far wall but not sure how to execute it without having another railing on the window

Please tell me about the lighting in the staircase. I see additional landing lighting, are the stair lights enough?
Tiny step lights in groupings in-stair.
Stair or step lighting is a great addition to your lighting design plan. This type of lighting is another example of visual cueing — helping people get from point A to point B with a light path.Recessed wall fixtures are another option for stair lighting. This example shows a combination of both

Could something like this be done between the rafters of an attic? Specifically, a single story ranch style home with the traditional pulldown attic stairs for access. Seems like it could be done, even without a back on the shelves, by attaching 2 x 4 to the rafters and then to

of the stairs should a runner like this start? also, in a hall, how far from the start and end of the hallway should the runner start?
How wide are those stairs? And how much did you leave on each side exposed?
of your stair. These are pretty narrow, so we just left about an inch and a half on either side.
Stair runners shouldn't end at the top of the stairs - They should continue as the carpet for the upper hallway.
The stairs are 3'-4" wide. Typically, I like stairs to be at least four feet wide,
and down stairs, something that is more and more important as we age. I would discourage you from doing a spiral stair. I find them cumbersome, especially if this is a stair you would use a lot. It is also pretty impossible to get any furniture up a spiral stair... Good luck with your house!

Not exactly what I had in mind, but the door is located under stairs.
if I ever paint the stairs - great color
I like the color of the stairs
to the stair sculpture and other artwork in the space.
8. Use style. The art above the stairs is contemporary, with clear and bright colors. The yellow open stair treads feel just as fresh as the artwork and complements it beautifully.
