Hi, I really love the stair case and could like to know its dimensions and construction if possible. Many thanks.
"Stair case construction - Hi, I really love the stair case and could like to know its dimensions and construc
Hi - thanks for the compliment and question. dimensions are pretty standard -- riser height is 7", tread depth is 11", each run is 37" wide. the stair itself is a bent steel plate welded to a steel tube embedded in the wall - and to a steel channel and plate assembly at the landing. The bamboo treads

Like the use if space under the stairs
of the stairs in this ideabook have open risers, which won’t work in all jurisdictions. They seem to be a popular means of bringing light through interiors, which makes sense given the way stairs are often the only double-height spaces in a home. There are plenty of photos of open-riser stairs with people

massachusetts with engineering codes and whatnot...how are the treads supported? steel behind wall? project going on 4 years and still no decision on stairs! please help-this is unique and beautiful
stair layout, but slats too thick
love the floating stairs (different wood/stain for us)
they support the treads, thanks to advances in glass technology. Note how the treads extend past the glass in the foreground. Take another look at the stairs to see this detail up close and to see how the landing serves as an office and a library.

What is the space needed for these stairs?
I am trying to put stairs down to my basement with the least amount of space needed from my dining room to make two more rooms downstairs for the now adult boys.
What is that lining where the stairs meet the wood flooring?
Stairs to third floor without closing in second

How did you install the stair lighting?
Hi, just wondering what wood thickness was used to create the stair treads and risers, looks great!
Thank you for your interest in GBC! This is a white oak stair case at the Cat Mountain project, with custom treads and risers. For more great information & photos of this and other GBC projects, please check out

The space is really opened up by the open stairs!
I like how the sconces are used on the walls and the stair lights
we could monopolize on integrating the natural light into the interior, we did," says Wetzel. Case in point: The lack of risers on these white oak stairs opens up the view to the large window at the landing.
