room-spanning steel girder on the ceiling, Jay was able to drastically open up and reconfigure the kitchen space. The wooden post would have been right on top of where this table now sits. The entertainment producer’s father made the table and chairs by hand in the 1950s. Jay camouflaged the steel beam by

Striking painted steel girders (painted construction yellow) complement the poured concrete walls and ceiling here.
Concrete and steel

What type of material? (Aluminum or stainless steel or other) How thick are they? How far do they extend from the wall? How much is inside of the wall?
Yes, the steel embeds were flush with the surface of the concrete. There was no skimming or concrete. Everything there was in the formwork. Again, a fabulous job

Defying gravity, this stair's 4-foot cantilever is made possible by steel's tensile strength and by welding the treads to embedded steel plates in the concrete wall.

hi there, i really like the steel posts and beams that you used here. can you tell me the size of them? also-can you tell me whether they were treated? hd galvanized? if you didnt hd galvanize, how are you protecting against possible rusting? were the etched? powder coated? or just raw
raw steel? thanks for your help!
Galvanized steel. I'm not sure where you are located but California Metal Spray in Santa Rosa has a process that can spray a zink coating on steel that looks allot better than the typical galvanized. The posts are W4x13
A good example of building on a steel frame. Also clean design.
