the outstanding features of the space is the dramatic arched window which fills the space with light. We designed a custom folded and cantilevered steel staircase which leads to the upper level. A sandblasted glass railing preserves privacy yet allows light to filter into the upper bedroom level. Products:
Seamless ness of the stair case
folded stair and blackened steel railing
YAN, an idea for the stairs leading
Folding. Altering the shape of steel can expand its spanning capability. Similar to the Roman arch, the shape here distributes the loads more efficiently. Because the thin plates comprising this cantilevered stair are folded, they're rigid enough to span large distances.

Can you provide more info on the stairs?
What type of material? (Aluminum or stainless steel or other) How thick are they? How far do they extend from the wall? How much is inside of the wall?
Yes, the steel embeds were flush with the surface of the concrete. There was no skimming or concrete. Everything there was in the formwork. Again, a fabulous job
It helps to plan ahead when you build stairs like this... obviously.
