Love this porch--how you can step off anywhere. Columns are nice and no railings.

I am painting my stair treads black, yours look amazing. I also have lighter floors. Did you just paint the 13 steps and lest the top the lighter color? Is the rule, just where the carpet actually covers the stair tread? Thanks, Kim
and want to do a dark blue like this but wonder if it will be to dark for both sides? Or should I add chair rail to both sides? I was thinking of a light color on the other side that would be the same as hallway upstairs to flow?
i have a stairwell similar to this and similar ceiling height - Struggling with what to do for light at top of stairs in order to not make the ceiling feel lower. is there a light fixture at top of stairs here? highhats? thanks
small hall to den. It has about 5 stairs open with railing the goes all the way up to vaulted or second floor ceiling that is not wide or a lot of light. Sconces might be a good fix so not to dark like a cave.

Thank you so much. So these 6-7 steps we see here are 4 - 10" and then do you know what you tapered it down to? Are the stairs on the left that descend down also 4 - 10 in the first set
