Where is the mantel from? What kind of stone was used?
Thanks. We ordered bardiglio marble for our kitchen and used Modul Marble--love their selection. Stone Mart also has unique pieces. Thanks again!

A chest as storage and display

blue chest in dining room and mismatched blues in room
I like this chest. It could be used in a DR or as a BR vanity
Do not hesitate to create your own well-worn pieces. The chest in our bedroom is very much like the one in this picture. I found ours at a yard sale, moldering in the California sun. The stain was old and faded, but the chest's bones were good. I took off the original hardware and cleaned it a bit —

The intricate design on this chest, stunning both for its color and pattern, looks as though it were painted with India ink. And the way the picture frame pulls the color upward is a
A gorgeous chest like this instantly transforms a room. The color, texture and pattern of the inlay turn it into a work of art.

A gray EDLAND Chest from IKEA was dressed up with Anthropologie knobs she found on sale. hardwired into light fixtures. Then my electrician installed them into the ceiling connecting them to a switches by the door and bedside (hidden beside chest) Not an inexpensive venture BUT worth every penny for the final results!
Painting on the chest of drawers
of the painting design on the chest, there is no need for a painting or picture over the bed. That restraint in design allows the chest to shine even more brightly. I like the colour of the bed frame that ties in with the chest colour and wall colour.
painted bedside chest of drawers, probably English or French, is a bit simpler and softer, but still performs the same important function of adding something a little artful and more unexpected than the usual stained piece. I like the fact that, because there is something painted on the chest, there was no
