small stone tile. almost like a mosaic, but much rougher.
Thank you that was really helpful. I actually found it in a 1" x 2" size at a very high end tile place for 16.00 a sq. ft. These stones are smaller, which I like too. I will check it out at Home Depot.

left. The fireplace stone is called Hudson Ledgestone by NSVI. The cabinets are custom. The cabinet on the left has articulated doors that slide out and around the back to reveal the tv. Good call. The radiant heat from a wood insert is much more intense than the heat from a typical open fireplace. You'll have to be careful about a wood mantel shelf, too. Pay close attention
