It is called falls creek ledge stone. I believe it comes from northern Idaho and Montana.

probably just sand. Pretty green moss will grow in between the stones if they are not set with cement.
I just made a circle pad out of old bricks. Can you tell me what is used between the cracks to fill on the natural cement colored stone that form a circle in this picture?
