This is a stone with a great deal of variation -- other slabs can look much darker. I love this variation.
in the stone business 30 years who told us that periodically waxing with a carnauba wax -- yes the stuff you wax cars with - is one of the best ways to maintain your stone countertops. Good luck all! Stone countertops are pricey, so we all want to get it right. I hope ours hold up as we think they will

kind of stone is used in fireplace and on ground, What kind of ground cover is used to fill. Would love to duplicate at our mountain ranch.
and the stone on the ground is a type of flagstone common here in North Carolina. Originally, the ground cover was a type of mondo grass, but it did not do well. In fact, if you look closely, a lot of it had been pulled out before the photo shoot. I'd recommend using native plant materials for you project
Pavers: I do not like the look of the grass growing between the stones.
