It is a stacked stone which comes in 12"x12" sheets and the material is slate. But, since this was found by the contractor at a local stone yard in the Hamptons, we do not have a spec for this on record... so sorry!
What was used for the stone around the fireplace?
I think the color of the stones would look good in our home. I would continue the stone above the mantle...maybe
stone used but a different mantle
