1947 O'Keefe & Merritt Town and Country stove required a custom exhaust hood
Did this O'K & M stove come in this RED color in 1947?
I have a 1947 Wedgewood stove that's white. Could it be painted? If so, where would one go to have this done? We moved this stove from CA to MO & would like it refurbished.
I just received my stove in white, never saw this red, might have done it. Is there any possibility to get the hood pattern and materials used?
these kinds of stoves, there are two white ones on Craigs list in Berkley, ca right now. http://retrorenovation.com/2011/11/04/13-places-to-buy-restored-vintage-stoves/
That stove must have cost a fortune! The red...and that size, are very rare. It is possible to have any vintage stove re-enamled

Interesting beam treatment and fire stove
Example of a cool wood burning stove for the master bedroom
simple and straight forward. wood burning stove for
of heat delivered over the entire firing cycle of the stove, from initial to final burn. The average BTU output, the middle of the range, is what you should pay attention to, as firing the stove on the high end will cause undue wear on both the stove internals and the flue. Knowing your climate zone and
configuration can get you very close to determining the size of stove you’ll need. Follow the stove manufacturer’s guidelines and if possible consult with a local woodstove supplier — they are invaluable resources. Oversizing or undersizing your stove will ultimately mean you’ll use it less often.
