If you must have the draperies, I recommend something like this that will allow light into your space while providing privacy.
Sheer fabric on the top to provide light and heavier fabric on the bottom to provide privacy.
light drapes are like a breath of fresh air. Sheer fabric on the top portion allows light to stream in even if you choose to close the panels for more privacy.

I like how the toilet and shower are private behind the wall. Then if someone walks in by accident they have some privacy
