Beautiful when the sun hits the columns
The richness of the column with the simple base -the paint color sometimes look cool and than changes to greenish creamy yellow... refection of sun? Like it w your red orange. What color is that off white please ?
How about this type of dormer to bring in more light to the living room? I love this roof. I love the wood accents.
for two to three windows. Dormers, especially wide ones, can transform unused attics into livable space by adding square footage (sometimes a whole room's worth) and ushering in natural light.

Beautiful idea to have this mini room/ beds by the pool
Raised platform for sun loungers
Simpler version, Cabana, if room
Add splashes of color and sun protection with cabanas or umbrellas. Not only can they add to your new patio color palette, but they’ll provide much-needed and appreciated shade on extra-sunny days.

still private with the wall, nice way to incorporate a 'zen garden' sort of courtyard, good option for a meditation/yoga room connected to the house

Horizontal Slats can provide a trellis and also break any direct sun heating the car while providing visibility.
The sides of the car port. Less expensive than solid walls? Keeps sun/snow out

Hillside Farmhouse
stair tower. On the opposite side, under a parade of dormers, the Dining Room saddle-bags into the garden, providing views to the South and East. Its generous overhang keeps out the hot summer sun, but brings in the winter sun. The house is a hybrid of ‘farm house’ and ‘country house’. It simultaneously
allowed us to separate the site into a public, arrival side to the North and a private, garden side to the South. The house becomes the long wall, one room wide, that organizes the site into its two parts. The garage wing, running perpendicularly to the main house, forms a courtyard at the front door.
